It also resonates with those who have felt alienated or isolated. 2) How do you decide on the colors and textures in your paintings?The colors in these works are influenced by twilight and evening lighting effects that transform houses into dark shades of blue and grey under dusk skies. This feeling often stems from early life experiences\, particularly the sense of returning home from school or after being away for an extended period. It also resonates with those who have felt alienated or isolated. 2) How do you decide on the colors and textures in your paintings?The colors in these works are influenced by twilight and evening lighting effects that transform houses into dark shades of blue and grey under dusk skies. These dark hues contrast with the bright and warm colors found in interiors and entrances\, which symbolize security and happiness. Over time\, my works have become more textured\, reflecting a freer approach to painting rather than meticulous rendering. 3) Do you have a favorite piece\, and why does it stand out to you?My favorite piece is Home #12\, which features a combination of geometric shapes alongside free-form clouds. I also appreciate the range of cool and warm blue tones throughout this piece. 4) What’s your creative process like—do you plan every detail\, or do things evolve as you paint?I plan every painting carefully\, using reference materials and sketches\, but I always leave room for changes as I feel they are necessary. These adjustments can be minor or significant\, depending on my intuition about the painting. 5) If someone is new to your work\, what’s one thing you’d like them to know or feel when they see your art?One of the best compliments I received for my Home series was that the work was emotive and evoked childhood memories of the security and happiness of coming home.
