In A Slow Ripple, Greta Guzek brings the West Coast landscape to life through her distinctive use of vibrant colour, simplified forms and rhythmic brushwork.

There is something almost musical about the composition. The flowing water, curving branches and repeating patterns of colour seem to move together, creating a sense of harmony between the different elements of nature.

Guzek’s landscapes are less about depicting a particular place than capturing how it feels to be there. A Slow Ripple is full of movement and vitality, yet somehow leaves us with a wonderful sense of calm.
