Fields and Meadows
June 7 – 27, 2025
OPENING RECEPTION: Saturday June 7th from 2 to 4pm; Artist in attendance.

ARTIST STATEMENT:
This series emerges from a personal longing—for stillness, softness, and connection. It brings together the visual language of my large floral paintings with the expansive gestures of landscapes, exploring the quiet tension between the cultivated and the wild.

Fields and meadows have long held a presence in my life—both familiar, yet emotionally distinct. A field, shaped by human hands, speaks to rhythm, intention, and routine. A meadow, by contrast, feels spontaneous and alive—an untamed space rich with quiet detail. While both celebrate open land, they reflect different relationships with nature: one of structure and utility, the other of balance and surrender.

In these works, I’m drawn to the space where these two meet—the edge between order and softness. Fields speak to our need for control; meadows offer the possibility of letting go. Through layered colour, gesture, and form, I seek to hold both truths: the quiet discipline of a field, and the emotional openness of a meadow.
