“A Year In Bouquets – From Courtney to Montreal,” a new collection of paintings by Krista Johnson, is a continuation of her ongoing exploration of flowers as a subject. This exhibition serves as a visual diary of the past year, with each painting acting as a reminder of everyday moments and experiences, encapsulated and remembered through bouquets. Flowers, marking both significant and commonplace moments, served as a crucial reminder of beauty and joy during a year filled with challenges, fresh starts, and new experiences. The inspiration behind these oil paintings on canvas and paper comes from the idea that flowers can evoke memories of life’s milestones and quieter transitions, making simple moments special when recalled through them.
