Eri Ishii, born in Japan and residing in Vancouver, is an oil painter known for her love of the medium’s texture and color. She studied at Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, Vancouver Life Drawing Society, and under Norman Yates. Ishii also holds a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia. She has won several awards and exhibited her work widely across Canada and internationally, including at the Campbell River & District Public Art Gallery, Halde Galerie in Switzerland, and Taiwan National Art Museum. Her work has been featured in the Vancouver Sun, Globe & Mail, and the Province, and was long-listed for the 2020 Jackson Painting Competition in the UK. Additionally, Ishii founded the 901 Artists Coop and advocates for artist studio spaces in Vancouver.
