Meghan Hildebrand’s dreamlike paintings explore real and imagined landscapes, inviting viewers into open-ended narratives. Using spontaneous mark-making and intuitive experimentation, she infuses her work with energy and constant reinvention. Her latest series captures the vibrant life of coastal forests, balancing the beauty of nature with traces of human impact. As the daughter of an artist and a miner, she reflects on Canada’s dual relationship with the land—reverence and resource extraction. Originally from Whitehorse, Yukon, she studied at Kootenay School of the Arts and NSCAD and now lives on BC’s Sunshine Coast. Her work is collected worldwide.
