My paintings intentionally exist on the boundary between photorealism and illustration. They are at once realistic and yet totally fabricated, referencing traditional painting, collage, photography, and digital manipulation. These paintings draw the viewer in with colour, whimsy and detail and then begin to ask questions about what exactly is happening in the scene. The slick flatness of the paintings and near absence of built up paint renders them as windows to a different world rather than an object that exists in our own.
